John and I were very impressed with the rapid response we got from Highland Home Heating and Cooling. We put in a request on the web site for an evaluation of our furnace and air conditioner at our newly-purchased 20-year-old home. We received a phone call the next morning and a technician came out that same afternoon. We had been told by another company that we needed over $1,200 worth of work on our heating/cooling system and that their recommendation was for us to replace the entire system - at considerable cost. Highland came in and thoroughly inspected our furnace and air conditioner. They reassured us that all it needed was a good cleaning and regular, yearly maintenance but that it was in good working order overall. He told us that we did not yet need to replace either unit. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, meticulous and honest. We would definitely recommend Highland Home Heating and Air Conditioning to our friends and neighbors. Joe, I just want to pass along that yesterday at our house the Carbon Monoxide detector kept going off. I followed the instructions from the manufacturer, turned off all appliances and the furnace and let fresh air in the house. Nothing worked. The alarm just kept going off. My wife and the kids were very upset. We tried to get in touch with National Grid and, well, that is impossible. I then decided to call your emergency number. I spoke to Josh. He went through everything with me over the phone and then came to the house about 30 minutes after the call. He was simply great. He went through the entire house with your high tech carbon monoxide detector and found 0 levels throughout. He was very thorough and extremely pleasant to deal with. His diagnosis is that out home detector is faulty. I think he is right. The thing is 10 years old and should be replaced. He said that we should replace it and afterwards if we still have problems call you for another diagnostic service.

My wife and I were very impressed with him, and with children in the home it was very reassuring to know that we could call your number and have someone appear so quickly and perform such thorough and professional services.

Good afternoon Diane. I just want to let you know that my experience with the installation went wonderful. The Generac crew was terrific, done in a very short time in a friendly manner. Mike is just great and you are lucky to have someone who does quality workmanship. You can tell he enjoys what he does. I learned quite a bit from him today, he is very thorough. I would like to drop a quick note…to tell you that the technician did a great job when he was by last Saturday. He was very knowledgeable and we talked about future ways to adjust and care for our system, this fellow is definitely an asset to your organization!

One of his suggestions was to label all of the ducts in the basement; I replied I would do it sometime later…..however, he commented that because I was still under warranty there would be no charge for the call anyway, so together, we labeled the ducts… I walked him out, after sharing an iced tea….. and that was that. Wow, I was thrilled…and very appreciative.

After meeting with four heating contractors for their recommendations we were happy to have chosen Highland & Company. When the estimator showed up he put “booties” on so he didn’t mark up our floors. The men that installed our new Carrier furnace were courteous and neat. The job came out better than we could have expected!
